Painting capacities

Painting capacity for large parts, heavy units and repeated industrial production

We don't judge capacity only by the maximum length or weight of the part. For each order, we deal with the painting process: handling, hanging, pre-treatment, painting, drying, quality control, documentation and shipping. Thanks to our facility near the D5 motorway in Pilsen, we also manage the reception and handling of oversized loads.

9 cabins for 14 m parts or hundreds of smaller pieces

We paint oversized industrial parts as well as repeated B2B series of smaller products. For series, we deal with the hanging method, production batching, shade repeatability, inspection and packaging so that the result is stable across the entire order.

Handling prepared even for heavy and atypical products

For heavier or irregular parts, we suggest handling in advance. We use standard operating capacity, column jacks, our own fixtures and facilities for solving atypical products.

Smoother painting due to separate drying

Nine paint booths and four separate drying ovens help keep orders flowing smoothly. Drying does not unnecessarily block paint booths, which is important for large parts and regularly repeated series.

Pretreatment and subsequent operations

Quality painting begins with pretreatment and does not end with the last coat of paint

Before painting itself, we deal with the material, surface condition, degreasing, blasting, or metallizing or other technological steps. Thanks to the continuity of pre-treatment, painting, quality control and other production operations, we reduce the risk between the individual steps of the order.

Depending on the type of project, we can also follow up with industrial bonding, welding, assembly, final assembly or production of fixtures for atypical parts. We can deal with selected further modifications, for example machining, in cooperation where it makes sense for the overall course of the order.

Blasting and surface preparation

Proper preparation of the material prior to painting is critical to the adhesion, longevity and resulting quality of the paint system.

Metallizing and corrosion protection

For parts with high durability requirements, painting can be combined with metallizing or another anti-corrosion system.

Bonding, welding and assembly

For selected orders, we can follow up with further production operations, so that the customer does not have to pass the part between several suppliers unnecessarily.

Primer within 8 hours of in-house blasting

It is important not to wait too long after blasting. That's why we follow up with our own blasting with a primer within 8 hours to minimize the risk of unwanted oxidation, delays between suppliers and loss of surface quality.

Technological reason

Self-blasting and painting in one operation reduces the risk of waiting between processes and gives more control over the result.

What materials do we paint?

We select the wet painting process to suit the material, surface and required service life

For each material, we deal with the correct pre-treatment, suitable base, required environment and follow-up tests. The goal is not just to apply paint, but to create a surface treatment that will hold, protect and meet the specifications.

Metals

Steel, cast iron, aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized surfaces, magnesium and non-ferrous metals. The key is the correct pre-treatment and the choice of an anti-corrosion base.

Plastics

ABS, polycarbonate, PMMA, PP/EPDM, polyamide, PVC or PUR. Adhesion, surface activation and a suitable primer are decisive for plastics.

Composites

Fiberglass and carbon laminate for technical applications where porous surface preparation, fillers and UV protection are important.

Wood and wood fiber materials

MDF, chipboard and solid wood, where sealing of absorbent edges, surface preparation and desired appearance are important.

Glass and 3D printed materials

Glass surfaces as well as 3D printed parts where wet painting helps to unify the surface, cover the layers after printing or create the desired design and protective effect.

Coating systems and application technology

We paint according to the required paint system and environment

We choose the coating system according to the material, the required service life, the corrosive environment, the customer's internal regulations and subsequent inspection. For the application itself, we use a proven application technique and paint pumps, which help maintain uniformity, speed and repeatability of the result.

Tests and inspection

We verify the quality of the surface through measurements, tests and reports

For demanding industrial parts, inspection is part of the process, not the last step before shipping. We measure and document the parameters that determine durability, appearance, adhesion, layer thickness and the fulfillment of customer requirements.

Thickness and composition of layers

Thickness measurement verifies that individual layers correspond to the proposed coating system and job requirements.

Tint, gloss and output report

For repeated orders and visible parts, we monitor the stability of appearance, measurement and traceable record.

Adhesion and cohesion

Cross-cut and pull-off tests show whether the coating adheres as required.

Salt spray resistance

Durability tests help demonstrate the suitability of a coating system for demanding environments and long-term corrosion protection.

Fields and Typical Uses

Painting where appearance, protection and repeatability of the result are decisive

Wet painting makes the most sense where it is not enough to just "paint" the part. The customer needs the right paint system, repeatable shade, surface protection, result measurement and assurance that pre-treatment, painting, drying and packaging will take place in the correct sequence.

Rolling stock

Standards, repeatability, auditability, bonding, welding and documentation.

Defense industry

Durability, customer requirements, measurements and verifiable quality.

Energy and heavy engineering

Large structural units, corrosion protection and logistics.

Engineering and industrial production

Repeat orders, larger parts, repeat production and stable cooperation.

Medical and special technology

Accuracy, process cleanliness, quality control and documentation for specific technical fields.

Aerospace and precision engineering

Visual and technical parts, where the accuracy of execution, shade stability, cleanliness, control and documentation are decisive.

Wet painting reference

Project examples where the process, capacity and quality control matter

With wet painting, it is important to see not only the finished surface, but also the specification, material, required coating system, method of handling, quality control and documentation. We therefore prepare references as technical examples of specific types of orders.

Rail technology

Painting of structural parts for rolling stock

Sample order where paint system, shade repeatability, layer measurement, documentation and readiness for customer audit are the deciding factors.

Repeated B2B series

Serial painting of smaller industrial parts

An example of an order focused on suspension, production batching, quality repeatability, shade control, packaging and long-term cooperation.

Heavy engineering

Painting of a large structural unit

Demonstration of a solution for a large part, where handling, production passage, drying, measurement and safe shipping need to be thought through in advance.

Anti-corrosion protection

Coating system for demanding environments

An example of an order where wet painting is followed by pretreatment, possibly metallizing, and the result is documented by measurements, tests and reports.

Customer prescription

Painting according to the customer's technical specification

Example of cooperation where the customer solves the standard, internal regulation, documentation, traceability of the process and the qualification of the supplier.

Certification

Certification for demanding industrial orders

For demanding jobs, a good look is not enough. It is important to document that the supplier meets the required standards, processes and industry requirements. Certifications help with technical approval, customer audits and long-term cooperation.

Frequently asked questions

What customers consider before requesting painting

How big parts can you paint?+

We paint parts up to 14 meters long. Weight and handling are assessed according to the specific product, the method of suspension and the available handling options.

Can you paint even smaller parts in a series?+

Yes. For smaller industrial parts, we solve the method of hanging, dosing, drying, checking and packaging so that the result is repeatable across a larger number of pieces.

Can you supply logs and measurements?+

Yes. According to the requirements of the order, we supply the measurements, reports and documentation needed for quality control or approval at the customer.

Can you also handle surface pretreatment?+

Yes. Part of the order may include degreasing, blasting, surface inspection, metallizing or other preparation depending on the material and the required coating system.

Do you paint according to C5 or CX standards?+

IMAKS works with demanding corrosion protection requirements including ISO 12944 and requirements for C5/CX. We always verify the specific system according to the environment and the assignment of the order.
